You might have to spend a lot of time rubbing and massaging your child's legs, giving hot water fomentation and occasionally administering pain relieving medicines, to give her relief.
But at the back of your mind is a constant worry, "Is something seriously wrong with my child? Is she weak, or deficient in vitamins and calcium?"
By the next day, however, the child is fine, and gets up very fresh. There is no hint of leg pain, and she continues to be active throughout the day, going to school and playing till late evening, when the pain returns.

Legs Take Load
Unlike any other part of the body, the legs are the two pillars and when you stand, walk, run and jump, the entire body weight falls on the legs. Hence these structures are prone to strain, not only in children, but in adults as well.
Cause of Leg Pains
This typical pain that comes on at night, and disappears by morning, is a part and parcel of growing up.
Firstly, relax! This pain is entirely harmless. In your growing child, the muscles of the legs are not as well developed as they should be. Also, when she runs, jumps and plays, her muscles get exhausted. In all these cases, by the end of the day, the muscles are tired, their energy levels are low and they start to pain.
The human body is so designed that it lets off pain signals whenever we are abusing any part of it or any part of the body needs to be rested.
In this case too, the leg muscles have spent all the energy available to them, and they let out pain signals, in order to prevent the child from further using those muscles.
When the child sleeps, the muscles get a well deserved rest, recoup all the nutrients that they have spent throughout the day from the blood, and come back to normal. They are now ready for another day's work. Hence, one will never hear a child complaining of leg pain in the morning, for now the muscles is fully rested and fit.
