- Onions
Being full of antioxidants, onions prevent clotting in the arteries and raise the 'good' cholesterol levels. The antioxidants present in onions inactivate the cancer causing agents. " Spinach: Eating plenty of spinach (palak) cuts the risk of lung cancer, heart disease, cataract and senility.
- Tomatoes
Due to potent antioxidant lycopene, which they contain, tomatoes are known to prevent cancer of the esophagus, stomach and colon. The good news being that cooking and canning does not destroy lycopene, which means that tomato gravies are all easy preservers of youth.
Healthy eating is one part of anti-ageing. The bottom line is that nutrition in combination with physical activity, is integrally related and must be addressed both by individual women and by the community to prevent disease and to maximize quality of life.
