Polyunsaturated and monounsaturated fats, where the molecules have gaps between them, are better for you.
By far the biggest evil of the lot is trans fat, where the saturated stuff is made worse through a chemical process designed to make commercial production of food more viable. Worse, it is probably lurking in your nearest biscuit or French fries.
Then there are carbohydrates to consider. Remember those bio lessons? If you are chained to your desk all day, chances are all the rice and potatoes you are eating are increasing your dress size.
I love my food. But I value my slim waistline equally. Just like I fret about getting taste, texture and timing down a T, I worry about turning into the size of a house.
This, sadly, is just one more thing to think about for us busy, female types. As if eating properly wasn’t hard enough without having to think about how not to get fat.
