Before You Go Out
Before going out to the beach or pool, comb your hair with a little conditioner. This helps protect it from the sun, chlorine and salt water.
Invest in a hair conditioner that contains a sunscreen. The heat will activate the conditioner and soften your hair, while the sunscreen will prevent UV rays from causing any damage.
You could also massage some of your sunscreen into your hair.
Wear a hat, cap or scarf if you can, to protect your hair from over-exposure to the environment.
While Sleeping
Even the way you sleep can affect your hair. Restless sleepers may actually break hair while sleeping.
If you are a restless sleeper, try a satin pillowcase so that the hair glides when you move in your sleep.
You could also tie your hair up in a high ponytail. Always use cloth rubber bands (scrunchie).
Watch Your Diet
Eat a balanced and sensible diet to ensure that you get your essential nutrients.
Supplement your diet with vitamins and drink plenty of water.
