Sure if you have a large house! Otherwise your bed will do just fine. Car Seat: Great for baby travels. It keeps your baby secure and out of your lap so you can also be comfortable. Most of all it gives you the freedom to travel with your baby if required.

Baby Carrier

Great for impromptu shopping trips where you need to be hands free. Very enjoyable for baby who feels cozy snuggled close to you. It should preferably be used after four months of age.

Carriage or Stroller

Perfect for the evening walks at your local park. For all you health conscious moms, it is a great way to have a baby outing and shed a few of those pregnancy kilos.

Remember, you are not Hercules, so buy a carriage you can handle with comfort.

Baby Swing

Definitely not for sleeping but a great source of entertainment and enjoyment for the baby. Babies love the gentle rocking and swaying and it can help in calming your little one's tantrums.

Nail Clippers

These are a must and definitely the baby variety. Never use scissors, adult clippers, bite or pull your baby's nails. Baby nail clippers or an emery board will do just fine.

Thermometer

A wide variety is available in the market, but a regular digital thermometer serves the purpose just as well. The easiest way to take the temperature is in the armpit.

Massage Oil or Lotion

Any brand that you prefer. But remember to do a patch test on the baby to test for any allergic reaction before using on the entire body.

Remember, do not use powder, kaajal etc. for the baby as these products can cause infections. The lesser items you use for your little one, the simpler life is for you!
