Krsna Mehta, Designer-Director, Zeba, completed his early schooling in Mumbai, India, and then travelled to New York where he attended the Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT). At the FIT, he studied fashion, design and photography, and went on to specialise in textile design. While in New York, he freelanced as a set designer for NBC.
Upon his return to India, Krsna was instantly absorbed in the creative field at Zeba where he revolutionised the company's fabric designs, turning what was previously a traditional Indian home furnishings spin into a complex fusion of colour, texture and embroidery mixed with a decidedly modernist influence.
As Zeba's design director, he has created and serviced projects for a diverse range of clients, including major hotel chains such as the Taj Group, to private projects in the homes of film celebrities, expatriates and socialites. Krsna has also designed and developed fabrics for international design labels, interior designers and architects.
Krsna has been awarded the prestigious Elle Decor International's design awards for two years in a row. His creativity is also reflected in his personal living space, and his new home in Bandra (Mumbai), India has been featured in Elle Decor, India, Elle Decor, Italy and Wallpaper magazines.
With his vibrant and intuitive palette of color, Krsna's designs reflect the new India and the best of east-meets-west globalism.
