I am 28 years old, married, no pregnancy yet. I have been diagnosed with PCOD. I had a small scratch on my aerola. I applied sofradex which helped reduce the itching. However now pus is oozing from it and now the same infection appears on the right aerola too with cracks, pus and at times bleeding.

Kindly suggest what to do. My gynaecologist ultimately told me to consult skin specialist. Is she right?

It might be a good idea to consult a skin specialist as this kind of infection is due to some skin problems and not a hormonal problem. Also the PCOD has to be separately managed and you might require medicines to bring about ovulation if it is not happening spontaneously. Get a complete fertility check up by a gynaecologist.
