Neck-hugging scarves have always topped the hottest fashion accessories list."Using scarves to cover your bust is old fashioned; scarves are more of a fashion accessory," says fashion designer Savio Jon, who loves to use neck accessories in his collections. He uses ruffles of the same fabric to create a 3D effect to the outfit, which would otherwise blend in.
While wearing scarves, keep the length short, always above the waistline. "Wear them with singlets and jeans, make sure you wear them with a wide neck, which means a big no-no to turtle neck," he adds.
Tie-ing the Knot
Don't try complicated knots to avoid choking or suffocating yourself! One of the easiest styles is to just twirl the scarf around the neck. A thin stain or silk scarf will be perfect for a tie.
If the scarf is small, tie it around your neck in a single knot and move the knot around to one side of your neck.
Give this style a new look by wearing a brooch on the knot just like a scout. Or you can simply cross it and attach a brooch.
Love you cowl neck top? Tie a small scarf around the neck with the knot at the back, to make it look cowl like. Use light fabrics such as chiffon or georgette, which will fall well on the neck.
If the scarf is too big, throw it over your shoulders like a poncho and tie a knot on one side.
Material Girl
When tying a scarf like a tie, make sure the scarf is not much in width and use fabrics such as silk, satin and georgette. These fabrics are easier to work with tie.
A scarf will hug your neck all the time, so make sure you are comfortable with the material. Make sure they are not too harsh on the skin or else you will get a rash.
Body Basics
Scarves are for everyone, so whether you are thin as a stick or a little large on the hips, grab those that look good on you. For all those with a broad body, don't think twice before picking up a slim tie. They suit almost every type of body.
Scarf-ties can be worn with a top or tucked inside a shirt. They are perfect to make an impact at the next board meeting. Ponchos look great on a large body, and if they have tassels, even better!
Try these neckpieces with all your outfits and create a different look everyday.
