We ask Raj Rao, astrological expert from astrolife.com, (open in a new window) to suggest some of the most auspicious days in the coming year to buy the precious metal. We also asked Meghana Doshi of the jewellery chain, Tribhovandas Bhimji Zaveri, to suggest good buys.
The best day to buy gold
Would be on a Pushya Nakshatra day.

This is the day when the stars are aligned in a particular formation, called the Pushya constellation. "It is one of the most auspicious days on the Hindu calendar and occurs once every month. If you are looking to buy gold on a particular day, make sure you buy it on a Pushya Nakshatra day," says Raj.
"But," he adds, "every day has a rahu kalam, or an inauspicious time to buy gold. It is best to avoid buying gold at these times."
Here are the auspicious days this year. Alongside them are the inauspicious times as well, for your reference. (You are likely to see many weddings on these days.)
