- Accordion (fold continuously to form fan pleats)
- On-bias fold (fold along the diagonal/true bias to form a triangle)
- Sash fold (fold it along the length to make it into a narrow belt)
- Envelope-fold (pick opposite ends of a square scarf and bring them to the centre of the square
- Next: Fold it from the centre again to form a trapezium)
- ‘S’ fold (fold it into half — end to end to make a big loop)
How to wear?

Kelly scarf: A look taken off from Grace Kelly’s tactic to avoid the paparazzi. Use a soft silk scarf, make a bias fold and rest the diagonal on the crown covering your entire head and hair. Take the loose ends, cross wrap from the front, take it to the back of the neck, and tie a knot at the nape. Now, add giant tortoise shell or coloured rim sunglasses (just the Hollywood pizzazz you need for an evening or day out!)
Cowl: Fold a silk, satin or any fluid scarf on bias and knot it at the nape of your neck. Let the excess fabric fall onto your bust into soft folds (cowls). It looks awesome with an off-shouldered top or a tube/sheath dress.
Bikini top: Use a scarf in a slightly thicker material. Make a sash fold and wrap it over your bust. Knot the ends at the back or form a bow at the front. To make it interesting, you could slip a chunky bracelet and rest it at the centre of your bust (for gathers). Mind, you this is a beach or poolside party look that needs immense confidence to carry.
