A larger than life bust of a marble textured Buddha, whose eyes looked graciously downward while a slight smile played on his lips, welcomed me. But enraptured as I was with this breathtaking sculpture, I couldn't help wondering 'If everyone sources their merchandise from Bangkok these days, what's so different about this store?'

Well, my question was answered as I walked over to meet Jessica Karani, who along with Sangeeta Shah, owns the store. "After visiting South East Asia and experiencing the culture, I just had to bring a part of it back with me," she explained.

True, the store has its regular South-East Asian attractions like Buddhas and tea light holders but every piece had detailing that I had never seen before!
