Hang up your masks against a neutral coloured wall. You don't want to take away from the beauty of the mask. Choose a wall colour like white, beige or ivory. You could also use an interesting texture on the wall.
Make sure the colours of the masks match the colour scheme of your home. If you are an amateur at using masks, go with masks with happy faces and warm colours.
But be selective when choosing masks and never overdo the decor.
Maintain Those Masks
"I picked up a trick from the Philippines that helps me preserve masks," Paul shares. "I first freeze the mask for two weeks, then keep it exposed for two weeks and freeze it again for two weeks," he explains, sharing his secret.
Tips to help you maintain your mask collection better.
- Make sure to secure the mask properly to the wall with the help of a nail. Do not damage the mask by repeatedly removing them from the wall.
- Call a pest control service every year or so to make sure your home does not have white ants etc. You don't want your precious masks turning into powder.
- A regular cleaning will keep your masks looking new.
Never throw out the packing boxes. If you need to shift residence, this makes packing easy. But don't forget bubble wrap as well just in case.
If by chance, a mask gets damaged or broken, don't throw it out or try and repair it. The wear and tear only adds to the charm!
