7.00 am - Jog around the neighbourhood in yellow tracks.
8.00 am - Lounge about over morning coffee in blue linen pants.
9.00 am - Off to work in a red shirt and black trouser set.
6.30 pm - Back home and off to meditation class in a lavender linen dress.
9.00 pm - Dinner with family in a turquoise salwar kameez.
Ok, so perhaps you don't quite change clothes that many times in a day. Or, perhaps you do and your maid bears the brunt of it.
In any case, the point is that you wear different clothes for different occasions. Choosing colours to suit your personality, activities and the season around you, can accentuate your style.
Also different colours also have different healing properties and are best suited for specific activities.
Active Wear
While jogging, doing aerobics or practicing yoga, experiment with warm colours yellows, oranges and reds. These colours make a sharp style statement and look synchronous with an active lifestyle.
Choose lighter hues or darker shades depending on what suits your skin-tone better.
Work Wear
You must have heard that black is the 'dress for power' colour. But I beg to differ.
Black worn in warmer climates looks stiff and stuffy. Try red for a power lunch or executive presentation instead. Red brings out confidence and power in your style.
Besides, the work environment is not all just about power play. It's also collaboration, communications, creativity and analysis.
Colours other than black (as in the ubiquitous black suit) can create a unique style for you.
Have a creative brainstorming session? Open up the yellows and greens of your colour spectrum. Yellow and green outfits at work bring out the collaborative and creative side of your personality.
Bring a new style - add a fresh perspective with beige and muted gold mixed with purple and yellow hues. Use scarves, accessories and shoes to add a dash of colour to your attire.
Leisure Wear
Pinks, blues, greens and turquoise bring out the relaxed and fun-loving side of you.
Evening wear salwar kameez, linen pants, t-shirts and skirts in these colours give you a versatile yet easy-going style.
Sleep Wear
Last but not the least, let's get to the dreamy sleepwear bit. From lacy nighties to tomboy pajamas, the overarching style rule for night wear is that it should be comfy.
Colour wise blues and greens accentuate your calm and rested feeling at night.
Instead, if you would like to tune in to the love station, you should stick with the pink or red style. The entire colour spectrum is at your command, so go ahead and paint the town red… and green and yellow and gold - one occasion at a time.
