• An empire waist is the perfect pick for pregnancy. It gives space for the belly to grow and makes you look very stylish.
  
  Pick an empire-cut dress with a bow, which is a huge fashion trends now. A satin bow, just below your bust is perfect to compliment your belly.
  
  
• You can also try long and thick Lycra tops with a broad neck. The neck will divert attention from your belly. Try one in black and team it with a golden stole.
  
  
• Pick a pair of stretchable jeans and team it with a round-neck t-shirt. Go for ones with floral or cartoon prints.
  
  
• Prints can be great to camouflage your belly, in case you are not looking to divert attention. Try animal prints, just like Kaykashan Pate did for the Lakme Fashion Week.
  
  
• For a sporty outing you can try large vests teamed with track pants. You can borrow it from your partner and layer two to two vests.

Fabric Matters

When buying maternity clothes make sure they have Lycra. As you grow it will stretch to accommodate your belly.

Avoid buying cotton clothes, especially starched ones. They make you look bloated and are absolutely useless post pregnancy.

But if you are going for a dress in cotton, without Lycra, buy an extra large size. Wear it during pregnancy and team it with a stylish belt later.
