Yes, even the celebs agree with us. Check out what they have to say about their favourite art forms because they sure know how to pamper themselves with art!
"Music reflects my mood."
- Suchitra Pillai
Being a singer, my favourite art form is music. I think it is an amazing form of expression especially if you can play an instrument. That's why I'm learning the guitar right now.
With music you can express a million ideas and the kind of music you listen to truly reflects your mood. When I am partying I love trance music but otherwise I prefer easy listening, the kind of music without any lyrics.
"My family roots are in theatre."
- Manasi Joshi Roy
Theatre is my favourite art form because from childhood I have been in and out of theatres - from being part of the audience to the green room - watching my parents perform.
Most actors begin acting in films and later try out theatre. But I consider myself very lucky to have started off with theatre. Theatre acting requires a lot of discipline and dedication. You really have to be on your toes because there are no retakes and you need to gauge the mood of audience while you are performing.
"I love the Kathak dance form."
- Arzoo Govitrikar
I have been trained in Kathak and I think it is the most beautiful form of expression just like other Indian dances. Kathak involves a certain kind of discipline and rhythm. I feel if you can pick up the rhythm of Kathak you can learn any dance form in the world.
For me, it is just a form of relaxation rather than something professional. Although I wish I had a guru who would train me everyday. If I had my way, I would like to dance for 7 to 8 hours day when I'm not working and at least half an hour on a busy day.
