A Maths post-graduate, she designs ensembles in Kantha style, an ancient art of West Bengal.
She also looks after an empowerment project that helps economically vulnerable women to stand on their own feet by using their skill at Kantha–stitch.
She is also the chairperson of the board of trustees and is a founder member of SHE (Self Help Enterprise) that helps the underprivileged women by teaching them the importance of health and hygiene.
Dudeja's bedmate is a laptop.
The day starts with receiving and answering emails. Some exercise, a bit of meditation, and she is ready to face yet another busy day.
After the hectic schedule, she relaxes over a couple of drinks in the company of a few close friends.
Today's grannies are also well-aware of the world around.
As Dudeja says, "I don't have to wait for others to tell me what's happening in the world at the moment, as in the past. I watch Iraq war live and am aware of the issues around the conflict."
Another thing that the grandmoms of erstwhile era suffered from was a gender bias, reminisces Dudeja.
It hurt Dudeja to see the different treatment meted out to boys and girls.
She remembers her grandmother as a person with an unexplainable rigidity and stoicism, superstitious and non-progressive, resigned to old age and fate.
Dudeja is glad that she has broken the mold.
