Samir Mondal has created the 'Mimetic' series from his research on surreal imaginations. The two paintings he presented are men drenched in rain and a mermaid underwater.

"The painting of the men drenched in rain can be interpreted in two ways. It could be the same person at different stages of his journey or a group of people," says Modal. But the point is that they are on a journey. The sky cloudy and it's raining so they don't know if they are going to reach their destination. But they are on a journey, he elaborates.
"You need to enjoy the journey. Not just the destination," he advises.
Metaphysical inquiries are explored in images of objects that function as spanning range from figurative to abstract and expressionist to bold graphics, the works coalesce through subject matter into a cohesive thesis, one that breaks down process to see how things work.
