JET LI: I think the most important I said he construes the movement to tell the story. He helps the character to help the story. Usually a lot of action choreographers just put action in the movie but don't connect well. Action is action story is story. So they don't help the character to use what kind of style to help the story move smoothly.

THE SCREENING ROOM: You come from a Wu-Shu academy background, and used to compete in a lot of Wu-Shu competitions. You have been through all these rigorous training all these years, now after making movies for so many years, is there a person or maybe an incident that you can remember that really influenced the way that you approach filmmaking?
JET LI: Just a few days ago, two days ago, I got a best actor award in Hong Kong. The first thing I want to thank is my master. He is the very nice guy. He not just taught me martial arts, he taught me to open my heart, to learn with all the masters in the world. Since then he introduced me to a hundred great masters in China and taught me everything I can learn. So I really appreciate what he did to make Jet Li's martial art foundation very strong. Until today, after what 37 years, I still can do what I learned from the early days.
THE SCREENING ROOM: So he has been the master since your Wu-Shu academy days?
JET LI: Yes, since my 8 year old start. He was my first coach.
