From the American invention lipstick to the popular cartoon character Popeye, from Italian mafia king Al Capone to the multi-coloured emblem of search engine 'Google' - graphic artist George Lois presents all of them in a beautiful collage that is the spread of the book.

In the photograph: The hamburger symbolises America's gastronomic contribution to the world: 'Fast Food,' the food for the modern on-the-go working class.
"In the sad times of self-inflicted anti-Americanism, I have endeavoured to craft a book that reminds the world, as well as my fellow citizens, of the variety and magnifiscence of the American pop culture," says Hilfiger, in the introduction of the book.
