Toddlers are constantly curious about the world around them. A room done up with shapes, colours and textures is sure to keep your tinkering tot busy. In fact, it can be educational too.
You might want to consider a low bed or even a simple mattress for kids between the ages of three to six as they tend to roll off the bed. A little space beneath the bed is always an excellent idea for storage. You can have slide-out colourful square tubs for all the plastic tea sets and little dinky cars.
Use bed sheets with geometric patterns, bold stripes or chequered bed sheets. Round and square shaped pillows with textured covers in fabrics like velvet and ribbed cottons. This is an interesting way for your child to learn textures too.
Add painted wooden semicircular or square shelves around the room for toys, books or photo frames. Wall mounted shoe racks will give you kid more space to explore.
Trick mirrors also make cool wall accessories. Your little ones will love to see themselves tall like bean poles or fat like pumpkins.
You can have fun with chequered flooring. Include low benches and round wooden tables with colourful laminates in the room that are convenient for your toddler to use. Choose an easy to clean material, just in case there is a paint explosion or a clay catastrophe. Add on decorative plastic containers atop the table for crayons, felt pens and more.
