Distraction
Is your house right at the next to the highway? On top of that are the T.V and the music system always on adding to the noise pollution?
It may be difficult for your child to sit and complete her homework amidst all of this. Also if he sees that the children are playing below the building, she might be tempted to go down and play with them.
You may not be able to control the noise out of the house but you can make sure that there is minimum disturbance in the house. Do not switch the T.V and music system on when your child is trying to do her homework.
Bullied in Class
You might hold the notion that children are heaven sent and can do no harm but that is not always the case.
Your child might be a victim of bullying which have would psychologically affect her and bring down her performance in school activities including her homework.
When something like this happens it is important that the school authorities are informed about it. Your child may also require counselling to cope up with it.

Scared Of Teacher
It can even be a case of her teacher mistreating him. If she is always yelling at him or bringing her morale down, your child might develop an aversion to the subject along with the teacher.
If the mistreatment goes overboard, it is very necessary that the principal is informed about it so that the required action is taken.
Wants Your Attention
Children have their own way of expressing their emotions. Many a times the reason behind a child's misbehaviour is a need for attention. Your child may be neglecting her studies and homework as a cry for attention.
At this point it is very important that you spend not only quantity but also quality time with your child.
Lack of Interest
Remember how you simply hated a particular subject in school?
Your child might be facing the similar problem. She might be putting off the homework because she simply is not interested in it. It is important that you make him aware of the importance of each subject.

The most important thing in such a case is to be aware of what is happening in your child's life. What we think of as trivial can be very traumatic for your child. Make sure that you approach your child as a friend while doing this. Also keep in touch with the school authorities to get a complete picture of what exactly is happening.
