There can also be a difference in size of the breasts caused by an implant. If you have asymmetrical breasts, this may get exaggerated after the implant.
Maintaining Implants
You need to go for regular checkups, once in six months to detect if something is wrong. There are certain exercises that the doctor shows you, which you will have to follow.
Removal Procedure
An implant can be kept for 10-15 years and then you have to replace it.
If you develop any complications, the implant is first removed and then the surgeon treats the complication. Then you need to wait for the tissues to settle before an implant is inserted again.
But, be prepared to face the scars after removal, as there is no way you can avoid them.
There are three approaches to removing the implant. One is from below, which is very simple and performed widely The other approach is from the nipple and the third is from the side. But the most popular one is from below as it is a time-tested method.
Many also prefer the one from the nipple, as the scar is not very prominent, but it can become thick. The breast may look asymmetrical or puckered after the removal.
Where to Go?
All big hospitals have plastic or reconstructive surgeons that perform implant surgeries. It is better to go for a reputed hospital rather than a private clinic as they are hygienic and there are less chances of infection.
The implant surgery takes about one and a half to two hours. But the removal takes much longer. The cost of surgery varies from Rs. 20, 000 to Rs. 50, 000, but an average surgery with a small implant will cost Rs. 30,000.
