Stretch Marks?
Stretch marks occur in the middle layer of the skin, which does not go back to its original place when it is constantly stretched. It then leaves behind stretch marks.
There are three reasons for you to get stretch marks on your body…
1. Skin stretching during pregnancy
2. Excessive weight gain
3. Extreme weight loss
Some times certain diseases, even a tumour (when removed), leave stretch marks.
In case of pregnant women, stretch marks occur on the stomach. But for one who has gained or lost weight, they can occur on legs, arms, thighs and even breasts.
When to start?
It is said, "Prevention is better than cure", but if you couldn't prevent stretchmarks start treating them as soon as you notice them.
Fresh stretch marks are red or pink. Once they fade, these marks become brown and much more prominent.
Creams to Use
There are different creams, such as Retino A, that claim to reduce stretch marks, but it is not always effective on everyone.
These creams might cause irritation to someone with sensitive skin. You must consult a dermatologist before using any creams to cure or to prevent stretch marks.
But creams, such as Stretch Nil, and other moisturisers, do help in preventing stretch marks.
