So what do you do when you feel like adding a stroke of colour to your vision?
Who Can Use Them?
Colour contacts are basically a cosmetic enhancement and can be used by anyone.

Yogesh Samat, CEO Foresight Opticals says "Coloured contact lenses are commonly used as an aesthetic accessory. They serve to modulate the colour of the eyes based on the choice of the lens."
Contrary to popular belief, coloured contacts can be used by people with dark pupils. The lenses have a different impact on such background but the colour of the pupil will change.
The colour of the pupil (with/without the lenses) is the reflected light from the surroundings and hence placing a lens on any colour of pupil will give the effect.
Suit Your Eyes
Balasaheb Munde of Lawrence and Mayo & Yogesh Samat of Foresight Opticals recommend coloured contacts for your eyes.
- For Grey eyes: Go for natural brown
- For Blue eyes: Go for a natural colour
- For Greenish-blue: A combination of cosmetic lenses and natural colours
According to Samat, The colour really depends upon the function of skin tone, face structure, hair colour and texture, personal preferences and occasion of use.
There are generally acceptable practices but the choice is entirely dependent on the person and how she wishes to feel with the lens. Usually pupils seen in pure Caucasian areas such as clear grey, clear blue, etc look a little awkward on Asian eyes. So a blend tends to look better."
