
Here's how you can keep your skin healthy and glowing all through the rains.
Dermatologist Dr. Chetan Oberoi says, "Your skin may act strange during the monsoons. Sometimes it may feel dry and dehydrated and may feel oily at other times. This happens because alternating rain and sun."
Care to Suit Your Skin
The humidity in the monsoon may cause your skin to sweat and become sticky. This will attract dust and dirt that will stick to your face or arms and cause breakouts.
- Skin as Dry as the Desert?
If you have dry skin, apply a mixture of rosewater and glycerine on your face before you go to bed every night. This will help soften your skin.
Grandma's Remedy:
Make a paste of almond and honey and leave on your face for 20 minutes. This helps soften your skin.
- As Oily as a Frying Pan
So your skin is oily… keep wet wipes handy so that you can wipe the excess oil off your face when you need to.
Use a water-based moisturiser and make sure you wash your face three times a day. Since oily skin is prone to pimples, apply a thin layer of Lacto Calamine on your face in the morning and before you go to bed.
This lotion clears your skin and soaks up the excess facial oil.
Grandma's Remedy:
Besan or channe ke atta mixed with rosewater or milk will cleanse your skin and soak up the extra oil.
- Normal Skin, Perfect Care
If you have normal skin, you need to take basic care of it. Make sure that you cleanse and moisturise daily.
Grandma's Remedy:
Apply a mixture of honey and lime on your face. Leave on for 15 minutes. This will keep your skin glowing. Lime acts as natural bleach.
