Aparna Santhanam, Kaya Clinic says, "Never ever sleep with your make-up on. If you do, it will clog your pores and may give you acne or pimples."
Here are a few essential must-dos to get that make-up off and prevent any skin problems.
The Eyes Say It All
It is essential that you take off your eye make-up first.
- Begin by taking a wet tissue and gently sweep your eyelashes against the tissue. This will help take off the mascara to an extent and soften your lashes.
- Then take a cotton swab or tissue with some eye make-up removing cream and sweep it gently across your eyes (in the outward direction).
Face-Off
Take a wet tissue and wipe the make-up gently off your face. After this, take a cotton swab with some cleanser and wipe off your face.
Remember to be gentle on your face. Do not rub too hard. The best way to rub is in a gentle, soft upward motion.
Once you are sure that all your make-up is off, splash your face with lukewarm water because this helps in the breakdown of the little make-up that maybe left.
Take a mild face wash and lather in your hands. Gently massage the lather on your face in circular motion as this will help increase blood supply to the face.
Rinse your face thoroughly and make sure that all traces of lather are washed off.
Make sure that you moisturise your face before you go to bed.
