There are a few home remedies that you can opt for to help regain the moisture in your skin.
- Multani Mitti or Fuller's Earth mixed with rosewater will help close your pores, tighten the skin and cool your face.
- Channe ka atta or besan mixed with milk and haldi (turmeric powder) will help clean your skin and retain moisture.
Besides these, sandalwood paste (with rosewater), Calamine lotion and aloe vera are cooling on the skin.
The Day After
The following day, it will help if you rub you face with a little oil before you bathe. This could either be coconut or olive oil.
This takes off any remaining bits of make-up and will help soften your skin too. After you bathe, moisturise your skin if you are indoors and use a sunscreen if you go out.
Make sure you use light, minimal, water-based makeup. This will allow your skin to breathe.
Again, no matter how late you are, take off all your make-up before going to bed. This way, your skin will be able to rest as it should.
