But did you know that chemotherapy's side effects are reversible?
Chemotherapy is used to treat different types of cancer and tumours. In chemotherapy, the drugs are given in cycles like for two months.
After two months, you may be given a break and after an interval, you may be put on drugs again.
Duration of the Treatment
Duration of chemotherapy differs from the type of disease you have. Generally, chemotherapy goes on for four to six months.
However, if you are in advanced stage of cancer or tumour, you may be required to undergo chemotherapy for two to three years or maybe even more…

Before the Treatment
Before you go for chemotherapy, ensure that you have a dental check up because while you are undergoing chemotherapy, you are more prone to infection and may not be in a position to get a dental treatment done.
If you need to go for your annual Pap smear test, then get it done before you go for chemotherapy. This is because chemotherapy may affect your cells and the effect may last for six months or more.

Once the treatment is over, you need to still take care for a year or so till your body is able to produce blood cells normally.
