Here are some things you need to know about how to quit your job without ruffling any feathers.
1. Tell Your Boss First
When you are planning to quit your job, don't go blabbing about it to everybody. Once you are sure you are going to quit, it is time to tell your boss... first! You don't want him to hear from someone else.
Wondering whether you should tell your boss your actual reason for quitting? Well, if you are quitting your job because you are simply frustrated you might not want to mention that. Instead you could say you have got a better offer.
A lot of people feel that a higher salary is a flimsy reason to give for quitting. But in actual fact, it is one of the more viable reasons.

Vaibhavi Shitut, a media professional, who had a good rapport with her boss, approached him and told him that she had got an offer with a better job profile and pay packet. "I even told him which company I was going to join," she says.
2. Stick to the Truth
Lies are a no-no especially if they have the potential of being found out. For instance, you might want to stay away from lies like 'I have a medical condition so I need to take a break' or 'I am planning to do my MBA' if you are actually just jumping for a better opportunity.
Remember word travels... and fast. So if you are getting another job, chances are your old place will find out sooner or later and you will just lose face.
3. Give Sufficient Notice
Don't go to your boss and say 'I am putting in my papers. Today is my last day'. Read your contract to find out what your obligations to the company are. Most often, companies require you to serve a one-month notice period. This gives you enough time to close all current tasks and hand over to someone else.
