The Popular Choice
Wall coverings are getting increasingly popular in Indian homes. "In fact, they are slowly replacing textured wall paints and decorative laminates," says Manish Mehta, a Partner with Tatva, importers of wall coverings from the U.S.A. and Europe.
He explains that wall coverings are quick and easy to install and just as easy to maintain as paint.
Bright is Beautiful
Interior designers are looking at a retro style of living for 2008. So wall coverings, in keeping with the trend, are funky and colourful.
"Look out for brighter shades like orange, fuchsia, yellow, green and blue to accentuate a living room wall or may be the bar area in your home," says Rohit Gupta, Managing Director, Elementto. "Metallic colours like gold and silver are also big this season," he adds.
In smaller spaces, however, try colours like light browns and greens, as brighter colours might close in on your space.
