While you are pregnant, especially in your first trimester, your body is likely to undergo lot of hormonal changes.
There is an increase in the production of progesterone, a pregnancy supporting hormone. When the progesterone production is not sufficient, it can lead to miscarriage.
This is the reason why the first three months of your pregnancy are considered very important.

Perimenopause
When your body can't produce enough of oestrogen, functioning of your ovaries may become faulty. As a result, the eggs do not get produced on time and you gradually stop getting your periods altogether.
Due to lack of Oestrogen in your body, you may gain excessive weight, egt high blood pressure or diabetes.
When this happens, your menstrual cycle will slowly stop and you may reach menopause.

When your body undergoes these changes, you are likely to experience all menopause symptoms like that of hot flashes, osteoporosis and sagging of your breasts.

Apart from these, you may also notice that your menstrual cycle may not be the same every month. For example, if you had heavy bleeding this month, the next month you are likely to bleed very less. You may also undergo lot of psychological changes like depression, mood swings and so on.
These are the signs you need to watch out for especially when you are nearing your menopause. For your body to function properly, all the hormones must be in the right amount and even a slight variation can cause problems.
