The pill can be taken either immediately after having sex or first thing in the morning - not before or two days later.
The pill works best if taken within 24 hours of unprotected sex or failed contraception. Also the pill only works up to 72 hours after sex.

What does it do?
The pill prevents your ovaries from releasing an egg. It alters the uterine lining so as to prevent the egg from getting embedded in the uterus.
Pregnancy can be great news. But all is not rosy during the nine months. There would be days where consistently you would wake up and the first thing you would do is throw up.
This is called morning sickness and is common during the first few months of your pregnancy.

When to Take the Pill
It is better to combat the feeling through exercise and healthy diet. However, if the feeling is overpowering and affects your day-to-day life, a pill might be recommended.
In most cases the pills are a combination of supplements and vitamins. And it needs to be taken at least for the first three months or until the feeling lasts.
6. Abortion Pills
You had an unplanned pregnancy. But surgery is not an option you want to consider. Instead you can abort your pregnancy with a pill.
This is also called as medical abortion.
When to Take the Pill
The pill needs to be taken before the seventh week of your pregnancy. There are two sets of pills, the first one needs to be taken under your gynaec's consultation.
The second set of pills needs to be taken 12 hours later.
What does it do?
The pill if taken in the first seven weeks cuts off nutrition to the embryo.
The second set of pills helps to open the cervix, causing mild contractions, then softens the uterus, causes it to dilate and expels the embryo.
