Eat Well
If you are anaemic, you need to eat well. If you are a vegetarian, you need to indulge in a lot of leafy green vegetables like spinach. Beetroot is also rich in iron.
Include fruits like figs, apples, bananas and chickoos or sapota which have high iron content in your daily diet.
You can also have dry fruits like raisins and khajoor or dates. Eating fruits and dry fruits like raisins and dates will also help you relieve constipation problems.

If you are a non-vegetarian, you can have red meat, egg yolk and liver to overcome the deficiency.
…Iron Supplements
Even if you are having a diet that is rich in iron, your doctor may still put you on iron supplements right after you complete three months of your pregnancy in case you are anaemic.

Do remember to continue the supplements while nursing your baby. This is because while nursing, your baby will get all the nutrition from your body through the breast milk.
Check your haemoglobin level by getting your blood tested before you try for a baby.
In case you are aware that you are anaemic before getting pregnant then it is better to increase your haemoglobin to the accepted levels.
