In fact, fainting is not only way to find out you are pregnant in a Bollywood movie. If a woman throws up, you know she is "going to be a mother".
So, is it true that fainting and vomiting are actually signs of pregnancy?
What Causes It?
It is not compulsory that you will faint if you are pregnant!
While you are pregnant, there is a fall in your blood pressure because certain blood vessels open up in your body to supply blood to your baby.
Apart from that, your blood volume also increases. This leads to a giddy feeling and you are likely to faint.
Also, the second reason that can lead to fainting is an ectopic pregnancy. In an ectopic pregnancy, you are likely to feel giddy and you may feel pain while your doctor examines you. This is confirmed through an ultrasound.
Feeling giddy or fainting is very common in your first and second trimester. In the first trimester, if you have morning sickness and nausea, lack of proper food can lead to fainting.

In the second trimester, your uterus grows bigger and tends to press against the blood vessels carrying blood to your brain. Even if you have low sugar levels in your body, you are likely to feel giddy or have fainting spells.
