Alcohol and smoking are considered bad during pregnancy. It is natural to worry about effects, if you have consumed alcohol or smoked before your pregnancy was confirmed.

You can rest assured that a glass of wine before confirmation of pregnancy won't harm your baby. If you have consumed alcohol regularly and in large amounts, only then your baby is likely to get affected.

So is the case with smoking. Passive and direct smoking can affect your baby, but only if you have been a chain smoker or have been in constant exposure to smoke.
