Artist Brinda Miller believes in spur-of-the-moment romantic surprises for her husband Alfaz.
Last week my husband and I celebrated our 18th wedding anniversary. I had not bought him anything and was not really mentally prepared to get him one.
Two days before our anniversary, he came back home in a terrible mood. He had a grumpy look on his face. Our daughter looked at him exclaimed, "Oh, there is my daddy from another planet."
That's when I got the idea to paint his portrait.
While he was away at work the next day, I worked on that portrait like there was no tomorrow. I painted a portrait of him with Jupiter and Saturn revolving around him. I even named the painting 'Father from Another Planet'.
After that, I went to his office early on our anniversary morning and hung the portrait. Needless to say, he was very excited and I cannot even begin to explain how thrilled and touched he was.
"I want all my romantic surprises to be different."
Bridal consultant Chhaya Momaya makes sure that every time she does something romantic for her husband Nirmal, it has to be different.
I love being romantic with Nirmal, but I love my romantic surprises to unique as well.
I clearly remember Nirmal's 30th birthday. We had gone to the Zodiac Grill, Taj, Mumbai for dinner. The ambience was perfect. However me being me, I decided to gift Nirmal a gift every two minutes for half an hour.
He had 15 gifts at the end of the dinner. I made sure that each gift was special. It represented our romance in a way.
