That was one hell of a disaster date. While Rachel had already been dating Joshua for a while, here are some First-Date Disasters that take the cake.
The Truth About Cats and Dogs?
Sanjay Wadhwa was looking forward to his date. A blind date - and a first one at that - got him excited and anxious at the same time.
They decided to meet at a local coffee-house and if all went well, he thought that he would take it on to dinner.
It did go on to dinner alright; except that it was with the intended girl's friend!
"Sushma (my date) showed up for coffee with her friend Pallavi. While Sushma sat quiet and barely said a word all through the evening, Pallavi and I hit it off from the word go," says Sanjay. Pallavi eventually sensed that Sushma was feeling out-of-place and decided to leave.
Sanjay did not know what to say to Sushma. Both of them sat looking at each other in silence. After a torturous 30 minutes they decided that the date was going nowhere. Sanjay ended the date by asking Sushma for Pallavi's number.
Directionless Date…Quite Literally
When Dilip Sequeira, a producer was set up with a PR professional, he thought he had hit gold. She was a woman who fancied bald men after all, how wrong could he be on this one.
"As the date went on, I decided I was very wrong. We decided to meet at Mocha's in Bandra, Mumbai," says Dilip.
Now even when one does not know the place, you can make an effort to find it right?
Not this one; Dilip had to explain every detail of the directions to Mocha to her.
It gets better! She talks and talks, and talks some more…about herself. Seemed like she did not believe in two-way conversation.
Like most people Dilip had a back-up plan; friends bailing him out in 45 minutes. But luck was smiling on him, because 40 minutes into the date (If that's what one can call it) her friends called telling her that someone had taken ill and she had to be at Lilavati Hospital, Mumbai as soon as possible.
Needless to say Dilip had to drop her off at Lilavati Hospital because…she did not know the way.
