When friends become lovers, it is a whole new ball game altogether. Much like Monica and Chandler from 'Friends', theatre person Divya Palat and former VJ Aditya Hitkari kept their new relationship hidden from friends for the first couple of months.
"We wanted to make sure it was for keeps and where we were headed as a couple," reveals Divya.The young couple started out as best friends about a decade ago. Five years later, they started dating.
Says Divya, "When Aditya and I decided to date we talked a lot about it; we did not want to lose our friendship. Both of us are not in touch with our exes." After being in a relationship for five years, Divya and Aditya eventually tied the knot in March 2006.
"Being friends and then a couple was not the easiest thing in the world. As friends, I never had to pretend I was in a good mood. But if you're in a relationship with your best friend, you have to work extra hard on it," says Divya.
