"Men are insecure when it comes to their self image. And if they know a woman is more successful then them, they are not likely to make the first move for fear of rejection," laments one.

But for our celebs, it is also about maintaining an image and respectability. Grumbles the VJ-turned actor, "If a man sleeps around, he is macho. But if a woman does the same thing, she is a slut. "

Says model Viraf Patel, "I definitely would not think any less of any woman who makes the first move. You cannot but feel flattered.

Trend watchers seem to agree. Says S. Unnikrishnan, who teaches at a suburban Mumbai college, "The woman today is confident and in control. She knows what she wants and how to get it. Why should it be any different when it comes to sex?"

When it comes to any social, sex-related message, the primary target audience are women. From birth-control, to oral contraceptives to safe-sex practises - it is the woman who influences, and makes, decision in most cases.

So there you have it then, men it is about time you got picked. And as for the women, go get your man!
