But the moment the game was loaded on my PC, I knew exactly what she meant.

'The Sims- Making Magic' is all about building houses and designing them from scratch. And by that I mean constructing the walls, choosing wallpaper, flooring, doors, windows, furniture, accessories and so much more.
But I've got to warn you, it all costs money. And you have to work within a $20,000 budget. The prettier the item, the more expensive it is.
But if you fancy the finer things in life then don't let the budget stop you.
Here's how I did it...
Getting Started
First of all, I chose a plot of land in SimCity and bulldozed all the little mounds off it. Then built the walls and divided the house into the living room, kitchen, master bedroom and kids' room.
Damn! I forgot the bathrooms. So the walls had to come crashing down, just for that small change. I have got to admit that was quite a pain. But with the decorating I forgot all about that.
I wanted to keep the cost down, so I went in for wicker furniture. But I had to go through the rest of the panel "just to see" what else was there. There's no harm in looking, is there?
Scrolling through the panel had my head spinning with excitement. A lovely canopy bed, creamy white piano, stone fireplace, gold-rimmed paintings, luxury recliners and a robot to do your bidding... I just had to give in.

Sure, it cost big bucks. The robot alone cost me $15,000. But what the heck, it's only a game!
Initially I thought I'd stay simple with a one-story house. But when I saw how awesome it looked, I couldn't resist the second. And the best part... I got in the Anti-Heisenberg Teleporter, which costs $6000 so the family won't have to trudge up and down a long flight of stairs.
Even though I'm done with the house, I visit it everyday to make those little tweaks even if it is just to change the roof or move a bookshelf.
