CELEBRITIES do cook.
In fact, some of them are the proverbial Kitchen Kings / Queens, dishing out yummy treats whenever they take a break from the glam business.
That's why, when it came to compiling some cool summer recipes, we decided to schmooze with them to get you some of their favourite summer recipes.
The best part: since these screen personalities have to be weight conscious, these recipes are healthy and low-calorie too.
Let's get cooking!

Spinach-almond-pumpkin mix

Ingredients:
3 cups of baby spinach leaves
2 cups of baby romaine
1/4 cup sliced almonds
1/2 teaspoon pumpkin seeds
3 small colourful capsicums (red/yellow/green)
10 baby tomatoes
1 cup small black raisins
2 cloves of garlic
Apple cider vinegar
Chilli flakes or 5 jalapenos
Rock salt
Black pepper
Cumin seeds
2 tablespoons of olive oil
Goat cheese, diced, as per your liking
How to make it:
- Toss the spinach, tomatoes, romaine, chopped capsicum, raisins, almonds, pumpkin seeds and chopped avocados in a large bowl.
- Chop the garlic. Make sure it is chopped very fine.
- Mix it well in the salad.
- Add the olive oil, rock salt, pepper, chopped jalapenos/chilli flakes and a touch of apple cider vinegar.
- Mix well.
- Add the goat cheese on top.
Why Shenaz loves this recipe: It is healthy, light, refreshing and garlicy. I admit that I absolutely love garlic.
Shenaz's tip: Salad's are all about ease and freshness. Your salad will always be as good as it's ingredients. Make sure the veggies are fresh and crisp. Wilted leaves are a complete no-no.
