Is Emotional Eating Adding Kilos?

Do you fall for emotional overeating?
If you know that you need to cut down on food and lose weight, yet end up overstuffing yourself everyday, you are probably victim of emotional overeating. There are some ways to deal with it.
Go Slow
Your eating habits won't change overnight. So instead of sudden cutting down, try and replace unhealthy food choices with healthy ones. Instead of stocking up on fried snacks and dry fruits, keep fresh fruits and popcorn at home. Replace chocolates with digestive biscuits. Changing quality before quantity shows immediate effect.
Think Before You Eat
Before shoving that sinful samosa in your mouth, ask yourself if you are really hungry. If you aren't, try to identify the cause behind your eating impulse. This could be the source of motivation for self-control.
Substitute Food By Action
The best policy to deal with stress is opting for other stress-busting techniques than food. Practice Yoga, hit the gym for a workout or just take a deep breath.
Keep Away from Temptations
This is more difficult than it sounds - you must learn not to fall for obligations or pressure by colleagues, relatives or for that matter, your own eyes that entice your tongue.
Once you master the art of controlling your emotions, the diets will work, the weight-loss workouts will slim you down and just an occasional samosa-chai with colleagues will be much more fun!
