Or of how that chubby kid in your school was considered by elders as being healthy and cute?
Are you still being nagged to eat more to put on some fat and give yourself well rounded look, because apparently your mother said that is the sign of being healthy?
"This is more or less a concept widely believed in India. Fat on our body is associated with wealth, luxury and most of all health. However, that need not be the truth," informs dietician Sushila Sharangdhar.

In fact the truth is that even a healthier looking person can be under nourished.
Shocked?
"Don't be. Because most often the outer appearance is simply accumulated fat through constant binging on junk food. And these are mostly empty calories. When it comes to actual nutrition people are falling short," adds Sushila.

Is your bulky figure really an intimation of good health?
Dr. Jayamala Singh, nutritionist from Health Awareness Centre, Mumbai asks you to check what you are eating.
The reasons for your lowered immunity levels or lethargy is because what you are eating is either more of junk and heavy food that contribute less to your nutrition and if you are eating proper food then you are having it at the wrong time.
Understanding the Body Cycle
"Our body works under a 24 hour cycle that is split into three parts. The first part from morning four to twelve in the noon is the elimination time, wherein you get rid of your bodily waste.
The second cycle begins from twelve noon to eight in the evening. This is when the process of digestion takes place. The third cycle begins at eight in the evening to four in the morning, when the assimilation of nutrition is at its maximum," explains Dr. Singh.
So what you eat and at what time also makes a difference in meeting your daily nutrition target.
