But do you know that your body needs a minimum amount of fat for you to stay healthy? Yes there are certain essential fats that your body cannot do without.
The Good Fat
Dietician Sushila Sharangdhar says, "Your body needs the fats simply because the fats too play an important role in the functioning of your body. There are three types of essential fats that your body needs. They are poly unsaturated fats (PUFA), mono unsaturated fats (MUFA) and saturated fats (SFA)."
There are certain oils that fall into each of these fats - the Sunflower oil and Corn oil make up for your poly unsaturated fats, rice bran oil, soya bean oil and olive oil come under the mono unsaturated fats and butter, ghee and cheese come under the saturated fats.
Remember that a particular oil may have all three fats but is probably highest in poly unsaturated fats. If this is the case then it is categorised as poly unsaturated fats.

You need at least the minimum amount of fat in your body in order to have your monthly period.
This is because your body fat helps in converting the male hormones into female hormones. This helps you to ovulate and then menstruate.
