But, during pregnancy, just popping any pill for nausea is not a good idea. It can be dangerous for your unborn child.
We spoke to Gynaecological Counsellor Dr. Mugdha Raut, to find out what is the medicine doctors advice for morning sickness if you are pregnant.
…But, Before That
In normal circumstances, here is what you would have, if you are feeling nauseous, queasy, sick in your stomach or have a vomiting sensation:
Domstal, Cyclopam (an anti-spasmodic agent), or Avomine
However, these medicines, which you would usually get over the counter, are basically for stomach pain or for motion illness.
For example, a Cyclopam is usually for stomach pain and not for vomiting. A Domstal has not been tested for specific pregnancy purposes. Avomine, on the other hand, is especially for motion sickness and nausea.
Remember, nausea and morning sickness in the first trimester of your pregnancy is very normal and happens to most women. Just don't this too lightly and pop just about any pill for nausea.

So, is there any specific medicine for morning sickness during pregnancy?
Yes, there is…
Specific Medication
Remember, during the first trimester of your pregnancy, your baby is going through initial crucial developments like her nervous system, cardiovascular system and the bone structure. So it is very important to have medicines that can tackle the morning sickness problem, but at the same time, be extremely mild on the body.
According to Dr. Raut, the best medicine for morning sickness is Doxinate and Doxinate+. These have gone through various clinical trials and tests and have been found absolutely safe for pregnancy.
Apart from that, if you are vomiting continuously and find it difficult to eat anything, then you can go for Ondansetron or Meclizine. However, these medicines are not over the counter drugs and should be bought with a prescription only.
