- Constipation
Excessive binging can cause indigestion accompanied by gas formation. The gas in the stomach blocks the stool from getting flushed out of your body. The result? Constipation.
- Heartburn
If you are in the second or third trimester you are more likely to binge to make up for the loss of appetite during the first trimester. And excessive eating of snacks can cause heartburn, that is, a burning sensation in your chest.
Apart from eating junk, you could also have heartburn if the quality of food you eat is bad.
What's the Solution?
According to Dr. Raut, if you don't get what you want to eat at the time you want it, you will get really cranky. So, make sure you don't deprive yourself of what you want. Just don't eat it in excess.
Apart from that if you really want to have sweets try some of the grandma's recipes. Opt for sweets like homemade kheer (Porridge), sheera etc.
Bottom line - do not deprive yourself of the fun and food this festive season. Just be aware of what you are eating and how much.
