Primary School Kids
Age: 5 - 10 years
This is the age when your child fusses about going to school, getting ready for school and definitely, studying.
Mark Fernandes, father of six-year-old Adiyel, ensures that he spends time with his daughter. He takes care of the morning chores like preparing breakfast, getting his daughter ready for school and dropping her off at the bus stop.
Once she returns from school, Mark makes it a point to speak to his daughter and find out how her day went. On weekends, it is Mark's responsibility to prepare his daughter's favourite breakfast. In this way Mark and his wife share responsibilities.
If your husband is more patient, he can take care of the homework part while you can take her lessons. You can also divide the subjects between you both. For example, you can handle science and languages if you are good at it while your husband can handle subjects you are not comfortable dealing with.
And at times when your husband is late from office, you can take over with the daily homework while your husband can help you at weekends by taking care of the weekend activities like making charts, helping your kid with her projects etc.
The Parent Teacher meets and open days are generally in the evenings. If you are unable to attend, you can ask your husband to drop by.
However, in case it is your child's annual day, sports day or any other special occasion make it a point that both of you are there as a family.
