The scene is pictured like a contest between the two, where each winning argument scores points with a live scoreboard keeping track. During the argument, both of them reach the same score until Mallika Sherawat starts crying.
When Mallika cries, the points in her favour rise rapidly and Rahul Bose is left helpless.
If you think this happens only in the movies, think again. Do you remember the last time you cried to get your own way?
Getting Your Own Way
Don't think that your crying will get you your way with just your boyfriend or husband. You could have adopted this technique during your childhood; your first lab rat being, who else? Your father!
Farah Ali, a New York based student, says, "I hate to call it emotional blackmail, but yes, I have always used tears to get my way with my dad."
From childhood days, she would weep bitterly in order to get something from her father. "It was sort of intentional at first, but later it became a part of my system. If I wanted something, I would naturally cry."
The point is Farah never threw a tantrum like other kids. If she wanted something, she would sweetly ask for it, and if she was refused, she would say "okay" and then go to her room and cry.
This would make her father think that she needed it real bad, and he would invariably buy it for her.
Don't Fake It
However, it is important to distinguish between real tears and faking crying.
Dr. Parmar says, "If you fake crying all the time, it will become a part of you and you will find yourself confused with your personality."
Abhilash Scariya from Bangalore says, "I get very uncomfortable when I see a woman cry. I don't know what to do, I get nervous and jittery, and especially if it's someone I don't know that well."
Even though men and women both experience emotions, women are far better expressing them than men.
According to Psychiatrist Dr. Ketan Parmar, for women, the best way to express emotions is to cry. After a certain age group, men just don't resort to crying to vent their emotions. That is why, when men find women crying, they feel very awkward.
Yes, that is precisely why a woman's tears are considered her greatest weapon.
Oh No! What Do I Do Now?
Dipannita Sarkar, from Kolkata, got caught once at a signal for crossing the red light. "I just could not understand how it happened," she exclaims, "I did not know what to do at first. I did not have any money and the car belonged to my dad. He would kill me if he found out. I just thought of the worse possible thing that happened to me. And suddenly, the tears started flowing out. All I could think of is I just hope this cop sees me crying and lets me go."
Her hope was duly rewarded, and the police officer her let go without taking away her licence.
