Mumbai: The trousseau specialist designers Ashima-Leena are known for their prêt and couture label. This season at WLIFW, the duo is preparing to bring Hollywood's glamour on the Indian ramp with their fall-winter collection.
The glamourous Hollywood look from 1920s-30s, with all it's shine and shimmer, inspires the collection.

With a theme like such we are bound to see lots of flowing gowns and shiny gems stones.
"There is something magical about that look. We have used a lot of embellishments to re-create that look. We have used everything from demote crystals and stones, emrald and ruby look-a-likes to the traditional embroidery," says Ashima.
The colour palette has a basic black and white, also black in combination with bright colours like red, green and blue.
The designers will include some custom-made accessories like belts, bags and earrings to compliment each outfit.
"This collection will carry well-fitted gowns and short dresses made from luxurious fabrics like silk , jersey, French chiffon and heavy satin," Leena says. With many designers choosing to work with jersey, it seems to be a hot favourite fabric right now.
