How much can you earn?
Siddharth Kannan says that freshers can start earning Rs. 500 per promo, but depending on your negotiations you can get much more. A decent voice over artist can even earn Rs 5000 per promo. So if you can push for even two assignments a week you can earn Rs. 40, 000!
When you are in the line for a longer time you can get upto Rs. 35,000 a day. But this, of course means that you have to be excellent at what you do.
"Television channels pay by the month. You can earn anything between 1 and a half to 3 lakhs," says Siddharth. So if you are tied up with even 2 channels and do nothing else, you can still earn around 3 lakhs a month.
But what you get paid as a fresher depends on how good you are. Anil Mani says that some of his students earned Rs. 2,500 doing sample promos for advertisement agencies (scratches) while they were training with him. He says that each session is recorded and that he takes only 5 students for each class.
Training with someone who takes a few students each batch is an advantage as it gives you a lot of personal attention.

The hours
Television channels and advertisement agencies look out for people who are good at what they do, and who wouldn't take too long to get the assignment done. This is because the longer time you spend recording in the studio, and the more mistakes you make, the more money the channel will have to pay the studio.
"If you are good and quick, then you can go into the studio spend around five minutes on short promos and walk out. The faster you are, the more assignments you can do in a day," says Siddharth Kannan
But as a beginner, you may get nervous in front of the microphone. This may take you longer to complete an assignment. But Siddharth Kannan informs us that with time and practice you will be faster. What you need the most in there is your confidence.
